THE VIDEO:
Shot partly in Fitzroy juxtaposed with the uniquely Australian rural scenery of Jeff's homeland in North Western Victoria, displaying eye catching natural colour & light. Earthy scenes complement real sounds in this clip to carry a blend of raw emotions through actor John Teague's journey of a lifetime. The viewer is left wondering "what is he searching for?" & "what is it that he lost?".
THE SONG:
"Better I Was" is 1 of many highlights on the EP for which Jeff has helped create an equally emotional video. Inspired by 8 years of teaching at a Melbourne school for disadvantaged kids, loved 1's experiences with mental illness & addiction, the recent passing of both Jeff's Mother & life/music mentor - the song speaks of regret, doubt, grief, loss of trust, loss of innocence & loss of any sense of reality & what's important in life in this day & age.
