Well what an amazing & memorable weekend! The locals of my hometown Underbool (& Walpeup) were so supportive & hospitable, while the Mallee turned it on for us with it's unique scenery & as usual, the best weather in Victoria.
Special thanks to director Max Miller for trusting that I could provide him with the filming locations he required to make a piece of art to match the emotions in the song - your dedication was inspiring. To actor John Teague who put so much genuine feeling into his part - it was mind-blowing watching you at your best, running up sand dunes, along the Ouyen Highway & dirt tracks. To Sarah Smith who added her elegance of performing the cello in the middle of the Pink Lakes...such a beautiful scene. To Tracy & Ash Corbett for providing beds & cooking us breakfast at 5am - it was the best "twig" (bonfire) ever...great to end the night with a little jam session too! Corey & Jac Burstall showed us an amazing sunrise on their canola fields & old mud brick hut & left us with a care package of the best vinyl collection going around. For Brett Evans joining us at the Pink Lakes & drive through Pine Plains with scenes of bush-fire burnt scrub with lizards, kangaroos & emus running around. To the Underbool pub & all the locals who came out for my 1st ever performance of my original music in the Mallee, was so much fun! & to the current owners of my old home - the Underbool General Store & the customers who put up with our early Sunday morning busking. Also, thanks Camo for filling up the tank & helping with directions & all the people who bought the EP.
The most fulfilling weekend ever, leaving the stress of the cold, dark, man-made concrete & steel of the city to find ourselves again in the earthiness & natural beauty of real reality...& such a perfect case of the video's concept becoming reality. We'll soon have a clip to remind us all of the experience!
